What We Do
Church is not just about meeting together on Sundays. We want to live lives that bring Christ into everything we do.
Monthly Message

Welcome to the first QP Monthly Message!

Here you can catch up on a summary of the teachings covered in January 2021. A great resource if you’ve missed something, want a recap or just to be inspired, encouraged or challenged again.

There is a format for everyone, so pick your favourite and check it out:

Along with each ‘Monthly message’ is a set of questions you can use to reflect on what we’ve covered, use to prompt discussion, or just to consider how we can live our lives on what we’ve learnt.

What ideas do you have about God that don’t fit’ into/look like Jesus?

What stops you from letting your like shine?

Where and how can you 'live visible in the month ahead?

If you've enjoyed this, why not share it with someone else?

Home Groups

We have a number of home groups meeting most weeks (one meets daytime; the others evening). These groups are seen as very important to church life and our individual faith journeys. They help us get closer to God by knowing the Bible better and encouraging one another. They are places where people can share openly about their faith and build strong friendships. The style and content of each group varies but all study the Bible and spend time in prayer for one another and wider needs.

Sometimes we hold a ‘United in Prayer’ event at church, where we encourage all the home groups (and anyone else) to join together in a meal (bring and share), a short time of worship, and prayer.

Conversational Bible Study

Every so often we like to meet together as a church and study the Bible together, led by our minister, Gordon. We believe that whether you’re a new Christian or have been following Christ for decades, we are all still learning and trying to get to know God better. It’s great to do this with others.

QP at ONE Prayer Time

Monday afternoons (fortnightly) 1pm-1.45pm. A time to meet together to pray, led by Pastor Gordon- all are very welcome to drop in.

Evening Communion

We recognise that some people prefer a quieter, more reflective worship style. Our evening communion is generally on the first Sunday of each month at 6pm for around one hour. It’s a small but friendly congregation, and anyone is extremely welcome.

Our children are so important to our church family – we are blessed to have them.

On a Sunday morning, everyone starts the service together and the children are normally involved in the main service at the beginning. The children then join their Seekers’ groups. There is provision for children aged 3-11, with activities, craft, Bible stories and prayer to help our children to have fun, and learn about Jesus’ amazing love for them. The children are really ‘going for God’ in a big way and have really let Jesus into their lives. We regularly encourage our children to be part of the morning worship service.

We also have a creche for those under 3. It is a safe place to leave your child, enabling you to enjoy the rest of the service.

QPBC is fully committed to safeguarding children, young people, and adults at risk, with an appropriate policy and procedure. All leaders and helpers have a DBS check and are given appropriate training.

Please do come and find out more about our children’s work by speaking to us before or after our services on Sunday.

Special Time Of Prayer

We believe in prayer, and we strive to spend more time in conversation with God, our Father. Once every few months we like to focus more intensely on prayer and devote a week to Special Times of Prayer, with specific prayer points. Each day in STOP week, we meet together for prayer at church, with prayer times scheduled at different times of the day (some early morning; some mid-morning; some evening etc). Everyone is encouraged to come along when they can, for however long they can, and those who aren’t able to attend are still able to take part by praying through the prayer points wherever they are.

Still Waters

Tuesday mornings, 9.30am-12.00pm in the Church hall.
QPBC has been making space available to all who would come in for a chat and refreshments during the week. All too often people find churches closed during the week, but we wanted to open our space to those who need a chat, company, a hot drink and a friendly face. We operate a confidential listening service with trained listeners. We believe there is a need in our community for this service and we have offered listening in the locality for over five years.

Maybe you need to talk to someone who isn't a friend or family member. We can offer a 30 minute period of listening, it's a 1-2-1 session with a Listener who will give you their full attention, who won't interrupt or judge or tell you what you should do.

It's not counselling, it's not an advice service, it's not a conversation, and it’s not an attempt to convert or persuade you of anything. It's to help you unload your feelings and decide on your next step. We look forward to seeing you and welcoming you

Ladies Circle

Ladies' Circle comes together on a fortnightly basis on a Wednesday, meeting at the church, Room 7 at 7.30pm.
It is a fun evening and a great time of fellowship and friendship. A varied programme is put together at the beginning of each term and includes theatre trips, talks, devotions and meals out. A minimal subscription is paid weekly and at the end of the year a gift is sent to an overseas missionary hospital.
Please contact the office if you would like to know more or want to join!

Open Door

Every Monday 2pm-4pm (except Bank holidays)

Come along for a chat and a cuppa. Bring your knitting, crocheting, or just relax and enjoy the company. We meet in room 7 in the church.
